
Next I used the Pen tool to remove the background- which left the photo looking like this:

Next I used effects such as Shadows, midtones and colour range which resulted in the image having this appearence:
I then duplicated the layer, adding a 50% gray effect to one, and a solid black to the other.

Therefore the image then looked like this:
Before long I wrote my text and used brush define to create a brush in the shape of my text:
This meant I could create a new layer and paste the brush over the top of my photo, before using the Gradient tool to give the text an almost rainbow texture. Next I used the 'Copy Layer Style' and 'Paste layer Style' option to give both the text and photo itself a similar appearance.
Finally (after merging a few layers) I used the Path -created in step 2- to create a 'Layer Mask' which removed the text on the outside of the picture. Thus completing the image...
